Adolescence Problems

Do you remember those school days when you would admire college students wearing colorful clothes and carrying only a few books? Many of us do. As a school student, it is common to want to grow up quickly and become like them. Students in the age group of 12-15 often see college as a symbol of freedom and fun while viewing school as a place of obedience and discipline. However, when they enter pre-university colleges, they realize that college is a phase of life filled with intense pressure, tension, and worry. The pressure is especially high for science stream students, but all students in this phase of life are affected.
Teenage is a period of life when it becomes difficult to fully respect one's parents. Young people struggle between the need for dependence on parents and the desire for independence. It's common to blame parents for all the wrong things in life. Parents also get upset when they see their children going down the wrong path and may lash out with harsh words. It's important for children to focus on the intention behind the words rather than the manner in which they were spoken. Unfortunately, this doesn't always happen and children may harm themselves as a form of protest. Love failure, experimentation with drugs and alcohol are some of the examples of harmful behavior that teens engage in, which causes pain to their loved ones. Parents and other adults play an important role in providing support and guidance for teens as they navigate the challenging journey to adulthood.
