Friendship at its best!!

The value of true friendship is infinite and priceless. Nothing can compare or ever replace the genuine, caring connection between two people who not only understand, but want only the very best of all things in life for the other. It is a gift, it is a treasure.

“A friend is one who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself". This quote aptly describes the role that a friend plays in our life. Friends are the ones who are always there for us, whether the times are good or bad.

Experts say, a person with good friend circle lives a longer and healthier life. They are the best medicine for our boredom.Agree, one also has the support of parents, lover, kids and siblings but having a good friend is a blessing. Friends are known to improve our immunity system. Apart from acting as a wonderful support system, friends motivate us and can also comfort us. Relationships provide us stability. They are an amazing source of relaxation.
In this world where we find cut-throat competition at every place, having a good friend is a great source of relief.

True friendship is a mutual trust which must be maintained at all costs and under all conditions and circumstances.

Our idea of friendship in different phases of life:

  • In kindergarten our idea of a good friend was the person who would share their pencils, erasers, crayons.
  • In first standard our idea of a good friend was the person who held our hand as we walked through the scary halls and lonely roads.

  • In second standard our idea of a good friend was the person who helped us to fight with the others who troubled us.
  • In third standard our idea of a good friend was the person who shared their lunch with us when we forgot ours in the bus or auto.
  • In fourth standard our idea of a good friend was the person who was willing to be our dance partner or partner while playing games.
  • In fifth standard our idea of a friend was the person who reserved a seat for us, be it in the class room or bus or an auto rickshaw.
  • In sixth standard our idea of a friend was the person who stood with us while we were being punished
  • In seventh standard our idea of a friend was the person who let us copy their homework.
  • In eighth standard our idea of a good friend was the person who helped us in our projects.
  • In ninth standard our idea of a good friend was the person who organized cool surprise birthday parties for us and a person who would tease us with the names of our crush.
  • In tenth standard our idea of a good friend was the person who changed their schedule so that we would have someone to sit with us at lunch and a person who would always be willing to come out for a party with us.
  • In eleventh grade our idea of a good friend was the person who gave us rides in their new vehicle, convinced our parents when they were angry on us.
  • In twelfth grade our idea of a good friend was the person who helped us to pick out a college/university, assured us that we would get into that college/university, helped us to deal with our parents who were having a hard time adjusting to the idea of letting us go.
  • At graduation our idea of a good friend was the person who was crying on the inside but managed the biggest smile one could give as they congratulated us.

Now our idea of a good friend is still the person who gives us the better of the two choices, holds our hand when we are scared, helps us to fight with those who try to take advantage of us, thinks of us at times when no one is there for us , reminds us of what we have forgotten, helps us to overcome hardships, stays with us so that we have confidence, goes out of their way to make time for us, helps us to undo our mistakes, helps us to deal with pressure from others, smiles for us when they are sad, helps us to become a better person, and most importantly loves us!

No matter where we go or who we become, never forget who helped us get there.
